THE DAILY REPORTER HONORS SYMBIONT’S JENNIFER DRESSLER WITH A 2022 WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION AWARD
MILWAUKEE -- Symbiont, a Mead & Hunt Company, congratulates Director of Project Management Jennifer Dressler, P.E., for receiving a 2022 Women in Construction Award given by The Daily Reporter. Held August 18, 2022, at the Discovery World's Pavilion in downtown Milwaukee, the ceremony honored Jennifer, among 30 other visionary women, for her outstanding achievements in construction as well as her positive impact in the community.
Over 28 years – 24 at Symbiont -- Jennifer developed her career as a structural engineer, discipline group leader, and project manager for design-build projects. Big-picture problem solving drew her to structural engineering, as well as the rewarding satisfaction of watching structures go from concept to construction to completion.
Jennifer finds her career path truly fulfilling, with technically interesting and diverse work that makes a difference, such as wastewater, renewable natural gas (RNG), and sustainability projects. She says, “I like helping to improve the world instead of just covering it in concrete.”
She began as a staff engineer at Symbiont, where she rose in the ranks to become head of the structural engineering group, then senior project manager, and now she serves as the director of project management.
Symbiont’s Vice President of Design-Build Brian Till, P.E., shares his enthusiasm for her recognition: “Jennifer earned the reputation as one of the best design-build project managers within our firm. Through her tireless efforts and patient persistence, Jennifer fully invests herself in the success of each project she manages. Jennifer is currently leading the largest design-build project in our firm’s history, and in this role, she has further entrenched the existing respect of her coworkers, subcontractors, and clients alike.”
Outside work, for more than a decade, she has avidly volunteered for the Whitefish Bay Public School District by organizing spring festivals, serving as secretary for the Parents’ Association, and becoming president of the school’s music fundraising program. Applying her project management skills, she drove successful fundraisers to improve the school’s critical infrastructure, including a massive upgrade to a school library.
Jennifer’s achievements provide inspiration for other women to join, contribute and serve as leaders in the engineering and construction industries.
